A series of new short, affordable art courses now available in 2013 through North Coast TAFE offers the community an opportunity to discover the artist within while building up to a full Diploma qualification and new career possibilities.
The short courses feature weekly sessions across topics ranging from painting, ceramics, print making, graphic design and visual arts, students will end up with a set of practical skills and a sample of what they can learn in the Diploma of Visual Arts.
Director of the Creative Industires Faculty at North Coast TAFE, Lester Searle, says that the offering is an innovative approach in delivering arts education for the region.
?This is possibly the first time that people have been able develop their creative skills in this sort of modular fashion, picking and choosing what they want to learn, when they want to learn it, in an accessible, affordable way,? says Mr Searle.
?With work and other life constraints, not everyone is able to commit to the full time Diploma course, so this could be an attractive alternative and an opportunity to get a preview,? says Mr Searle.
The courses cost from $395 per person. The Diploma of Visual Arts program is also offered through several campuses, along with Certificate and Diploma courses in areas like interactive digital media, arts administration and library services.
Anyone interested in enrolling in any of these courses should contact North Coast TAFE on 1300 62 82 33 or visit the website.
