Brazil?s state-led oil company will raise the wholesale price of diesel fuel by?5 percent?in a move to reduce losses from selling fuel below the world price. The rise would apply to all diesel fuel sold to distributors at the refinery gate and would be applied to the price?prior to?taxes. Distributors?may elect?to pass on the increase to their customers or not. Diesel is Brazil?s most-used motor fuel, driving most of? its trucks, railway locomotives, and heavy machinery.
